Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Review

harry-potter-and-the-deathly-hallows-part-2

As one of the people who watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on its first day of showing here in India, I’ll try not to write spoilers.  I am not one of the avid fans of Harry Potter, I haven’t read any of the books either, I am just a regular guy who watches good movies. And as for the last Harry Potter movie (hopefully), I’ll say that the last installment of Harry Potter is an action-packed, exciting, and magical. Compared to the first part of the Deathly Hallows, which I found quite boring and more dramatic, the Part 2 is a total opposite of it.

It started with the scene where the first part ends and follows Harry’s and his friends’, Hermione and Ron, quest on searching and destroying Lord Voldemort’s remaining horcruxes as the Dark Lord and his followers attack Hogwarts. The loyal professors of Hogwarts together with the students defend the school which resulted to deaths of many wizards including one of the Weasley twins.

The highlights of the movie are the real story of  Prof. Severus Snape, the worthy death for Bellatrix, and the battle between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. Neville Longbottom also played an important role in the movie, Neville is the Sam(in Lord of the Rings) in this movie.

One thing though that I did not like is the ending, I mean not the ending but the ending-ending, the scene after “The End” and before “Cast”. I do not understand the need to put it since the filmmaker failed to convince the audience that the main casts got older, they still looked young. (I think this is a spoiler :p) That’s after 19 years later.

The last chapter of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a great watch. A good ending to the series of movies on magic and wizardry. It’s a job well done for Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint who all grew into young adult as Harry, Hermione, and Ron did.

If  you have not watch it, check out the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 trailer.

Thanks for your personal review. I’m the opposite, a huge fan of the books while finding the guidelines to the movies way too broad. In fact, no one will sit with me if I’m watching a Harry Potter movie because of my “he didn’t do that, what about this?!” mentality LOL!

books are always better than movies, that’s why it’s sometimes good if we just watch the movie, or just read the book.

  2. I always wondered whether they’d get away with that last scene. Haven’t made a plan to see this yet as I don’t want it all to end! Maybe next weekend.
